2008-09: The Brampton Battalion (OHL) center tallied 31 goals and 79 points through 57 games this season, racking up another 26 points (14g+12a) in 21 postseason matches with the squad. He was awarded the Bobby Smith Trophy as the OHL’s Scholastic Player of the Year. He’ll be back with Brampton next season.

Talent Analysis

A complete player, along the lines of a Steve Yzerman.  Duchene has impressive speed and checking ability, and this year he showed that he has outstanding hands and can come through the clutch.   Duchene has solid, but not outstanding, size at 5'11, but it's his ability to play positionally sound hockey complemented by excellent speed that makes him an all-around threat on the ice.

Future

Has made the Colorado roster in his rookie season, and is a contender for Rookie of the Year.
