Brett MacLean named CHL Player of the Week

MacLean started the week with a pair of goals in an 8-3 loss to the Kitchener Rangers on November 1. He followed up with four consecutive goals in a 6-3 win over the Brampton Battalion on November 2 and finished the week with three goals and an assist in a 9-5 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on November 4. He was the third star of Thursday's game and earned first star honours on Friday and Sunday. The 19-year-old native of Port Elgin, ON is sixth in the OHL scoring race with 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points in 13 games this season. MacLean, a second round pick of the Phoenix Coyotes in the NHL Entry Draft last June, is two points shy of 200 in his four year OHL career.
Dana Tyrell of the Prince George Cougars was the WHL nominee for the award after scoring six goals and one assist for seven points in three games and Mathieu Perrault of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan was the QMJHL nominee after scoring two goals and four assists for six points in two games.
