Pistilli and Lacroix win TELUS player of the week awards

In two games, the Gatineau winger scored a game-winning goal and added four assists, thus playing a part in five of the team’s seven goals (71%) over that span. Saturday, in a 4-1 win over the Moncton Wildcats, he registered three points and was named the game’s first star. Then, on Sunday, Pistilli had two helpers in a 3-0 victory over the Foreurs. He is fourth in the QMJHL in scoring with 41 points in 30 games. The Olympiques sit at the top of the TELUS division standings with 42 points.
Chris DiDomenico (3-1-4) of the Sea Dogs, Michael Frolik (2-2-4) of the Océanic and Toby Lafrance (2-2-4) of the Tigres were also considered.
The defensive player of the week award goes to Cataractes defenseman Simon Lacroix. In two games, the seventh round pick of the NY Islanders in 2007 scored a game-winning goal, a shorthanded marker and added two assists while maintaining a +2 rating. Friday, versus the Wildcats, Lacroix netted three points in a 6-3 win and was named the game’s first star. Then, on Sunday, he scored the game-winner in the first period to guide his team to a 4-1 victory over the Titan. Shawinigan has won seven of its last eleven games.
Goaltenders Michaël Dupont (2-2-0; 1 SO; 120 MIN; 0.50 GAA; .982 SAV%) of the Océanic and Ryan Mior (2-2-0; 1 SO; 120 MIN; 0.50 GAA; .978 SAV%) of the Olympiques, as well as defenseman Alexandre Néron (2-1-3; +4) of the Océanic were also considered.
