Drayson Bowman Named BOSTON PIZZA – WHL Player of the Week

CALGARY, AB. – For the second straight week, the BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Drayson Bowman of the Spokane Chiefs.

Bowman picked up eight points in two games during the week of November 18th through to November 25th. He scored five goals, three assists and was plus eight, helping the Chiefs to a 2-0 record in that span.

On Wednesday, November 21st, the Chiefs hosted the Chilliwack Bruins at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Bowman picked up the ‘hat-trick’ netting three goals and adding two assist as the Chiefs downed the Bruins 6-0. He was also named the games 1st Star.

On Saturday, November 24th, the Spokane Chiefs travelled into the Tri City area to take on Divisional rivals, the Americans. Bowman scored two goals and one assist in the Chiefs 5-3 victory. Bowman was also named the games 2nd Star.

During the Chiefs six game winning streak Bowman has scored 12 goals and 5 assists putting his Club first place in the WHL U.S. Division, WHL Western Conference and the entire Western Hockey League, with an unprecedented winning percentage of .820.

Bowman, an 18 year old from Littleton, Colorado, is in his third full season of play in the Western Hockey League and with the Spokane Chiefs. At the 2007 NHL Entry Draft this past June, Bowman was selected in the 3rd round – 72nd overall by the Carolina Hurricanes.

The WHL has also nominated Joey Perricone of the Moose Jaw Warriors for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week Award.
