Gajewski named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds’ goaltender Kyle Gajewski is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday December 2 after posting a 3-0-0-0 record with a 1.30 goals against average and .952 save percentage in three games.

Gajewski was the second star after allowing one goal on 27 shots in 4-1 win over the Sarnia Sting on Wednesday, was the third star after allowing one goal on 28 shots in 2-1 win over the Windsor Spitfires on Friday and finished the week with third star recognition after allowing two goals on 29 shots in 3-2 win over the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday. He also stopped two of three shootout attempts in that game.

The 20-year-old London native is second among all OHL goaltenders with a 2.22 goals against average to go along with a 19-5-0-1 record and .921 save percentage in 25 games. Gajewski, who started the season with 11 straight wins, needs just six more victories for 100 in his four-year OHL career.
