Clendenning and Bourdon win TELUS player of the week awards

In three games, Clendenning registered six goals and two assists, playing a part in eight of the team’s twelve goals (67%) over that span. He also maintained a +6 rating. The 20-year-old forward, who was acquired by the Screaming Eagles in November, enjoyed his best outing on Thursday, scoring all four goals in a 5-4 loss to the Moncton Wildcats. Clendenning was named the game’s second star. The Screaming Eagles sit in third place in the Eastern division standings.
Michaël Dubuc (5-1-6) and Hugo Carpentier (3-4-7) of Rouyn-Noranda as well as Brett Morrison (4-2-6) of PEI were also considered.
The defensive player of the week award goes to Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defenseman Marc-André Bourdon. In three Huskies wins, Bourdon registered two goals and added six helpers while maintaining a +3 rating. His best performance came on Thursday as he collected a career-high five assists in a 9-5 win over the Tigres in Victoriaville. He was later named the game’s first star. The Huskies sit in second place in the overall standings (59 points in 44 games), one point behind the Gatineau Olympiques.
Goaltenders Pier-Olivier Pelletier (2-0; 125 MIN; 1.44 GAA; .947 SAV %) of Halifax and Charles Lavigne (2-1; 185 MIN; 1.95 GAA; .945 SAV %) of Moncton as well as defenseman Jean-Philippe Paquet (2-2-4; +1) of Baie-Comeau were also considered.
