Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Brett Parnham of the Oshawa Generals is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday December 30 after scoring six goals and adding five assists for 11 points in four games.
The 18-year-old native of Orillia started the week with a goal and an assist and was the first star in Oshawa’s 3-0 win over the Barrie Colts on New Year’s Day. He added a goal and an assist in an 8-4 loss to the Peterborough Petes on Thursday, added a goal and an assist in a 6-4 win over the Erie Otters on Friday and finished the week with a hat trick and two assists in a first star effort in Oshawa’s 6-2 win over the Petes on Sunday. The third year centre improved his scoring totals to 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points in 39 games.
Jordan Clendenning of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles was the QMJHL nominee after scoring six goals and two assists for eight points in three games and Kyle Bortis of the Calgary Hitmen was the WHL nominee after scoring four goals and six assists for 10 points in five games.
