RISING

Jamie Arniel, C
Sarnia Sting (OHL)
Height: 6.00 Weight: 185

Arniel is definitely a prospect and has some great skills. He sees the ice very well starting in the neutral
zone and makes good decisions offensively. Has become a fairly strong faceoff man and is relied on in
situations to take draws. Coming to Sarnia was a great move for him and gave him a fresh start. Arniel
has played stronger and stronger lately and his role is larger than previously with the
Sting. He is relied on to take some of the offensive pressure off of Stamkos and he is more than willing
and capable of doing that. He may not go as early as some expect in the draft, but he is a very solid
prospect with a decent future.

Brett Theberge, C
Peterborough Petes (OHL)
Height: 6.00 Weight: 194

Theberge has become an excellent two-way player. He moves the puck well, uses his vision and patience
to work well on the power play and in traffic. He has developed his game into a smart defender who can be
counted on to win key draws at dangerous moments of the game. Has shown the ability to play against
opposing teams’ top lines, while still contributing in the offensive game. Has great hockey bloodlines, as
his great grandfather is the legendary Dit Clapper. This intelligent player will blossom into a potential
darkhorse selection.

Jake Gardiner, D
Minnetonka HS (MN-HS)
Height: 6.02 Weight: 170

Best player on the ice. Every time he touches the ice he creates plays. He can’t be left alone or he’ll take
over the game. Has a jump in his stride that makes him hard to grab onto or tough to play 1 on 1.  Still
believe he’ll go first round, high. Dynamic player. Good showing for a half dozen NHL scouts.

Eric Mestery, D
Tri-City Americans (WHL)
Height: 6.04.7 Weight: 195

Mestery is a smooth-skating defenseman. The first-round, seventh overall bantam pick, by the
Tri-City Americans in 2005. Has great hockey sense and is very positionally sound. He will play in all
situations and will be a big part of the Americans run for the playoffs. He needs to bulk up and grow into
his frame. Mestery who could be somewhat of a late bloomer could put it all together. He has two
attributes that cannot be overlooked — size and a tremendous skating ability as he makes it look
effortless.

Geordie Wudrick, LW

Swift Current Broncos (WHL)
Height: 6.02.7 Weight: 204

One of the most improved players in the WHL. Wudrick has good size and speed to go along with a
natural scoring touch. Power forward type really impressed ISS scouts with his performance at recent
Top Prospects game. Very effective along the boards. Strong skater. Gets penalty-kill time as well.

Teigan Zahn, D
Saskatoon Blades (WHL)
Height: 6.01 Weight: 217

Teigan has greatly improved his overall game since the start of the season. Since he was given the
assistant captaincy permanently his confidence has noticeably risen. His skating has improved by leaps
and bounds and still takes the body and plays a physical game. Teigan is now receiving some power-play
time on the second unit. He showed great composure with the puck and consistently made hard
accurate first passes. He plays a lot of minutes for the Blades which makes his plus/minus totals a bit
deceiving.

FALLING

James Wright, C
Vancouver Giants (WHL)
Height: 6.03.5 Weight: 175

Wright is in head coach Don Hay’s doghouse. Wright, didn’t even make the trip to Portland, a victim of
what is seen as inconsistent play. The Giants were awaiting test results but they now are saying Wright
may have mononucleosis, which would sideline him for an indefinite period

Chris Doyle, C
Prince Edward Island Rocket (QMJHL)
Height: 6.00 Weight: 193

Showed some real emotion for the first time in a while, got into a spirited fight. Showed glimpses of
what he is capable of, though still not for a full game. Still takes too many shifts off. His skill set will get him
drafted, but a GM is going to have to overlook his inconsistencies, and hope he matures. He is one of
those high-risk / high-reward type deals.

Justin Larson, LW
Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors (OHL)
Height: 6.02.7 Weight: 198

Can play center or left wing. Has good size, but doesn’t use it effectively. Very little physical play. Skating
is OK and does a nice job of getting in on forecheck but instead of using body, he tries to stick check.

Tyler Schmidt, D

Tri-City Americans (WHL)
Height: 6.00 Weight: 198

Schmidt has a very high level of compete and is very physically strong, however his lateral
mobility is worrisome at the next level. Has size and strength. Fast north/south.
