Gajewski named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Kyle Gajewski of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday February 24 after posting a pair of wins to go along with a 0.50 goals against average and a .983 save percentage in two starts.

Gajewski started the week by stopping all 24 shots he faced in a 3-0 road win over the Sarnia Sting on Thursday. He was named first star of the game after posting his second shutout of the season. Gajewski made 35-saves and then stopped four of five shooters in a 2-1 shootout win over the Plymouth Whalers at Compuware Arena on Saturday. He was named second star of that game and racked up his league-leading 34th win of the season.

Gajewski, a 20-year-old from London, ON, improved his season record to 34-13-1-3 to go along with a 2.42 goals against average and .913 save percentage in 52 games. He was also named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week on December 3.
