Paré, Paris and Lagacé earn QMJHL player of the month awards

The offensive player of the month nod goes to Fracis Paré of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. In twelve games, the Q’s first 50-goal scorer recorded sixteen goals, including three game-winners, and seven helpers. Therefore, he had a hand in 23 of the team’s 44 goals (52%) over that span. Moreover, the Saguenéens centre registered at least two points in eight of twelve games. He is the League’s leading point-getter on the road this season with 49.
Matthew Pistilli of Gatineau, Jakub Voracek of Halifax and Tomas Svoboda of Acadie-Bathurst were also considered.
Defensively, Drew Paris of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan is the award-winner. The Titan blueliner recorded eight goals, including three game-winners, and added eleven assists in fifteen games. His efforts helped Acadie-Bathrust earn twelve wins in February. Furthermore, he played a physical game, dishing out twenty-nine hits. Paris registered at least one point in each contest while maintaining a remarkable +15 rating.
Ryan Mior and Patrik Prokop of Gatineau as well as Pierre-Luc Lessard of Baie-Comeau were also in the running.
Among rookies, Jacob Lagacé of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens distinguished himself. Over the course of the last four weeks, the left-winger recorded seventeen points in thirteen games, including seven goals on thirty-four shots on net. Moreover, he maintained a +6 rating and distributed eighteen bodychecks. He has registered at least one point in each of his last eight contests.
Hubert Labrie of Gatineau, Timo Pielmeier of St. John’s and Nicolas Champion of Acadie-Bathurst were also considered.
