Americans’ Pickard named ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Chet Pickard of the Tri-City Americans is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after going 1-1 with a 0.36 goals against average and .988 save percentage in two games.
Pickard opened the 2008 Kal Tire WHL Western Conference Championships against the Spokane Chiefs with a 36-save performance in a 1-0 double overtime loss on Friday. He followed up with a 45-save shutout in a 1-0 double overtime win in Game 2 on Sunday to help the Americans tie the series. He was named first star of both games.
Pickard, a 19-year-old from Winnipeg, MB, has a 10-3 post season record to go along with a 1.64 goals against average and .942 save percentage and three shutouts in 13 games.
Josh Unice of the Kitchener Rangers was the OHL nominee after going 2-1 with a 2.00 goals against average and .927 save percentage in three games and Ryan Mior of the Gatineau Olympiques was the QMJHL nominee after going 2-0 with a 1.61 goals against average and .952 save percentage in two games.
