The AHL will ice 29 teams in 2008-09.  Every NHL has its own affiliate except for Dallas, who will split their prospects among four teams. 

One important rule change for this season: playing rosters during the regular season have been increased to a maximum of 18 skaters and two goaltenders (up from 17 and two).
