The Czech Republic has so far had a bit of a mixed bag at the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship, but they are very much in the mix to battle for a medal. After three games, the Czechs have five points off a regulation win, an shootout win, and a loss that places them fourth in Group B.

One of the scoring stars for the Czech Republic at this tournament has been Vaclav Karabacek, a forward who had spent the 2013-14 season playing for the Gatineau Olympiques. Karabacek has been a sniper for the Czechs in Finland, netting three goals and adding two assists in three preliminary round games.

Czech forward Lukas Vopelka hasn't been a high profile player for his country at the U18, but he has contributed a goal, an assist, and seven shots on goal while pulling duty as an extra forward.

Karabacek and Vopelka spoke with Hockey's Future after their country's win over Denmark, conversations that have been captured in this HF video.
