Calgary Hitmen’s Brandon Kozun named HUSKY WHL Player of the Month

CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that forward Brandon Kozun, of the Calgary Hitmen, has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for December.

The 18-year-old native of Calgary, Alberta, recorded 19 points through December, netting seven goals and 12 assists all while maintaining a plus minus rating of +9.  Kozun led all WHL players in scoring through December, had seven multi-points nights and a nine game point streak.
 
Kozun’s consistent play helped the Calgary Hitmen post an outstanding 10-1-0-1 record through the month of December, which included nine straight wins to wrap up the month, and maintain their first place standing in the WHL Central Division, Eastern Conference and entire League. His efforts also earned him a Boston Pizza WHL Player of the Week honour and he currently sits 1st among all WHL scorers with 28 goals, 35 assists for a total of 63 points in 43 games thus far this season.
 
Kozun is playing his second full season in the Western Hockey League and with the Calgary Hitmen.  He has appeared in 123 WHL regular season games with the Hitmen collecting 48 goals, 70 assists for a career total of 118 points. 
 
His accomplishments make Brandon Kozun a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for December.
