Hackett began his week on Friday night with a 30 save performance at home against the Barrie Colts. He was named second star of the game in the 5-3 victory. His solid play between the pipes continued on Saturday at Compuware Arena in Plymouth where he made 37 saves including 17 in the second period to shutout the Owen Sound Attack 5-0. The shutout for Hackett, his second of the season, was the only one of its kind last week in the OHL and earned him first star of the game honours.

In 32 games this season Hackett has a record of 18-11-2-0 with a 2.89 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage. His strong play has helped lift the Whalers into playoff contention where they currently sit seventh in the Western Conference with 46 points.
