There is a handful of top prospects for the 2014 NHL Draft that have held their top-5 ranking over the course of the 2013-14 season. One of those steady performers is Oshawa Generals left wing Michael Dal Colle, the highest ranked forward out of the OHL this season.
Back in September, ISS Hockey had Dal Colle ranked sixth overall among the 2014 crop. In that scouting organization's final rankings released early in June, the Woodbridge, ON native was ranked third overall, no doubt a reflection of Dal Colle's strong performance in the 2014 OHL playoffs. The Generals made a postseason run through the Eastern Conference before falling to the North Bay Battalion in the conference final.
For the season, Dal Colle finished sixth overall among OHL scorers after netting 39 goals and adding 56 assists for 95 points. He continued his steady production in the playoffs, scoring eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points in 12 games to finish seventh in OHL playoff scoring.
Dal Colle took part in the 2014 NHL Combine held at the International Centre in Toronto, ON. He met with the media following his testing session, with some of his comments captured in this HF video.
