While he may believe that he has to work on his consistency over the course of a season, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds forward Jared McCann was Mr. Consistency when it came to his ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft.
McCann was ranked 11th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting in their midterm rankings, and finished the season ranked 10th in the CSS final rankings. Additionally, the Stratford, ON native was ranked 15th overall back in ISS Hockey's September rankings and landed in the 17th spot in that organization's final rankings.
McCann had a memorable 2013-14 season, starting it off with Team Canada's gold medal squad at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, and ending it as a member of Canada's bronze medalists at the 2014 U18 World Championship. In between those tournaments, he scored the game-winning goal for Team Orr at the 2014 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and finished second in scoring for the Greyhounds with 27 goals and 35 assists for 62 points in 64 games.
After completing his testing session at the 2014 NHL Combine, McCann met with the media to discuss the Combine and his season, a conversation that is captured in this HF video.
