It was just a matter of when, not if, but Tampa Bay Lightning rookie forward Jonathan Drouin notched his first NHL goal in his third NHL game, a 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
Drouin took a pass from Nikita Kucherov and snapped home a shot from the left face-off circle to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Lightning. Drouin also assisted on the first goal of the game with a goalmouth pass to Steven Stamkos, making it a two-point night for the former QMJHL star.
Hockey’s Future has Drouin ranked as the top NHL prospect. He was chosen third overall at the 2013 NHL Draft, behind Nathan MacKinnon and Aleksander Barkov.
