Vachon, Champion and Gusse earn TELUS Player of the Month Awards

Marc-Olivier Vachon of the Drummondville Voltigeurs had an exceptional month, tallying seven goals, including two game-winners, and adding three helpers. He also scored a shootout goal. Furthermore, the forward won 58.9% of his face-offs and posted a +8 rating. The Voltigeurs were undefeated in September, going a perfect 6-0.
Jonathan Hazen (Foreurs), Gabriel Lévesque (Huskies) and Marc-Olivier Vallerand (Remparts) were also considered.
Nicholas Champion is the award-winner on defence. In six games, the Titan goaltender posted a 3-3 record while registering an impressive 1.95 goals-against-average and .940 save percentage. He didn’t allow more than three goals in any of his starts even though he faced an average of 33 shots per game. Finally, Acadie-Bathurst was solid in shorthanded situations, posting an 86.5% success rate.
Adrien Lemay (MAINEiacs), Kevin Gagné (Sea Dogs) and Maxime Clermont (Olympiques) were also in the mix.
Robin Gusse gets the nod as the month’s top rookie. The goaltender helped the Chicoutimi Saguenéens earn points in each of his four starts. He won two games and lost the other two in shootouts while maintaining a 2.82 goals-against-average and .899 save percentage. He also faced an average of 28 shots per contest.
Adam Polasek (Rocket), Jakub Culek (Océanic) and Trevor Parkes (Junior) also received consideration.
