BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, March 8, 2010 – Acadie-Bathurst Titan forward Jonathan Lessard and Moncton Wildcats goaltender Shane Owen today were named the TELUS offensive and defensive players of the week (March 1 to 7).

Lessard scored two goals and added three helpers in two Titan victories. Moreover, he posted an excellent +6 rating. The St-Eustache native had a career best five-point effort on Friday, helping Acadie-Bathurst defeat Halifax 8-1.

Gabriel Dumont (Voltigeurs), Danick Paquette (Remparts) and Sean Couturier (Voltigeurs) were also considered.

Shane Owen earns the defensive award after winning two games while posting a 1.44 goals-against-average and .941 save percentage. Owen also recorded a shutout by pushing away fourteen shots in a 2-0 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Centre 200 last Tuesday.

Ryan McKiernan (Titan), Jean-François Bérubé (Juniors) and Maxime Renaud (Drakkar) were also in the running.
