Finland has made an impressive run so far through the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship, winning their first three games while outscoring their opponents, 12 goals to 3. The Finns must now defeat Canada for Group B supremacy in their final game before the U18 playoff round.

One of the contributors to Finland’s solid performance at this tournament has been forward Petrus Palmu. The tiny (5’6″, 172 lbs.) winger, who played for the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL in 2014-15, has scored a goal and added an assist for the undefeated Finns. In 62 games for the Attack this season, Palmu scored 22 goals and added 20 assists for 42 points.

Palmu is eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, but was not ranked by NHL Central Scouting in that organization’s final draft rankings.

Hockey’s Future caught up with Palmu following Finland’s win over the Czech Republic, a conversation that is captured in this HF video.

For a sampling of Palmu’s talent, below is a series of highlights of the Finn competing for the Owen Sound Attack during the 2014-15 season.
