Stajcer Named Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Scott Stajcer of the Owen Sound Attack is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 3.  Stajcer had two wins including a shutout victory while posting a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .972.

In two games between the pipes, Stajcer backstopped the Attack to two wins over top-ranked competition in the number five ranked Kitchener Rangers and the sixth ranked London Knights.  On Friday night in London, he made 34 saves to defeat the Knights 4-2 before earning second star honours with his 36 save shutout performance at home on Saturday night in a 4-0 win over the Rangers.  

Stajcer, a 19-year-old from Cambridge, ON, is playing in his fourth OHL season with the Attack.  The fifth round 2009 NHL Entry Draft pick of the New York Rangers currently leads the OHL with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .969 after three starts.  

Maxime Clermont of the Gatineau Olympiques was also considered after posting a 2-0-1-0 record including a shutout victory with a goals-against-average of 1.64 and save percentage of .939.  Deven Dubyk earned a pair of victories for the Medicine Hat Tigers allowing just two goals for a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .971.
