Swedish forward Rikard Rakell and his teammates weren’t even born the last time that Sweden won a gold medal at the World Junior Championship.  But Rakell was one of the players that helped the team earn their first gold medal at that tournament in 31 years as they defeated Russia in overtime to win the 2012 WJC.  Rakell picked up five points and pumped 35 shots on goal during the tournament, his first appearance at this event.

Rakell talked about winning the god medal following Sweden’s win over Russia.
