The 2016 edition of the NHL Scouting Combine is again taking place at HarborCenter in Buffalo, NY, right next door to the home of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres, First Niagara Center (soon to be known as KeyBank Center). 114 prospects for the 2016 NHL Draft have been in town this week to take part in the interview and testing phases of the Combine, with the main testing session taking place on Saturday.
The man primarily responsible for putting this event together, Director of NHL Central Scouting Dan Marr, has been in Buffalo this week to oversee the proceedings. He has been in his current position for five seasons, a period of time that has seen the Combine grow as a media event while also moving from its former home in Toronto to the current one in Buffalo.
Marr met with the media today to discuss various topics related to the 2016 NHL Draft, including top prospects Auston Matthews and Patrik Laine. His comments are captured in this HF Podcast/Video, which can be accessed below.
