In spite of last two years no Slovak kid has a real chance to be picked up in first round. However Malec, Pohanka and Slovak might be seleceted in second or in third rounds. Budaj, Svatos and Surovy could be good picks in the top 100 as well. Other kids like Chovan, Skladany, Kolozvary and Jurcina should be selected in this draft too. I am not in the position to say who else of Slovak native players would be on the list of draftees. Most of above mentioned players skated in junior as well as senior leagues. But only some of them played regularly and proved they are able to succeed on senior level e.g. Zajac and Jarolin.

Other (non-ranked) prospects
Tomas Oravec 13/03/1982 5'11" 165 LW Kelowna WHL
Lubomir Pisar 04/02/1981 6'2" 195 G Martin Extraliga
Tomas Starosta 20/05/1981 6'1" 192 D Trencin Extraliga
Miroslav Kristin 22/01/1982 6'0" 178 W Zilina Division I
Jaroslav Betka 31/03/1981 5'9" 170 W Vsetin Czech Jrs.
Oravec - good rookie season on WHL, finnished as 4th leading rookie scorer.

Pisar - gifted goalie, pretty good performances on Extraliga.

Starosta - regular player on Extraliga, impressive regular season as well as the playoffs.

Kristin - 3rd leading goal scorer on Div. I (29 goals in 39 games), besides this he shined in the junior league playoffs.

Betka - smallish forward recorded 71 points in 43 games, third-best on Czech junior league.
