The Pittsburgh Forge had a very busy 3 game week playing a rare Wednesday
night road game in Cleveland and hosting the USA National Under-17 Team in a
weekend series.

Forge 5 Cleveland 8 :
The Forge trailed 6-2 after 2 periods with Carson Strang and Andy Cote
netting goals. In the third Ken Trombetta netted his sixth goal of the
season to cut the deficit to 6-3. Andy Cote and Carson Strang both added
their second goals of the game, but the rally wouldn’t be enough. The Barons
scored a late goal and added an empty net score with a little over a minute
left. The newest Forge acquisition, Larry Sterling, relieved starter Tim
Heneroty and stopped 17 of 19.

Forge 2 USA 3 (Shootout) :
The Forge lost their first home game of the season losing to USA 3-2 in a
shootout. Both Forge goals came in the first period and were scored less
than three minutes apart. Forward Daniel Schildorfer’s third goal of the
season gave Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead at the 12:54 mark of the opening period.
Defenseman Brian Hartman then increased the Forge lead to 2-0 with an
unassisted goal. Pittsburgh held a 2-1 advantage late in the third period
until T.J. Hensick of the USA National Team tied the contest at 2-2 with
just 52.5 seconds left in regulation. It was his second goal of the game.
He scored the only goal of the second period when he beat Forge goaltender
Tim Heneroty at the 15:31 mark. The USA National Team won the game by
scoring on three of its four chances during the shootout. The goals were
scored by Adam Pineault, Ryan Suter and John Vigilante. The Forge converted
only one of four opportunities against goaltender Alvaro Montoya during the
shootout with Josh Coyle getting the goal.

Forge 3 USA 1 :
The Forge finished the weekend off with a win defeating USA 3-1. Goals by
Sean Berkstressor and Pat Levendusky staked the Forge to a 2-0 lead. The USA
National Team got on the scoreboard with a goal by Robert Earle at the 7:03
mark of the final period. Andy Cote closed it out with empty net tally with
20 seconds to go. The Forge outshot the USA team 50-18. With the victory,
the Forge improved its record to 17-5-1, which is the second-best mark in
the entire North American Hockey League.

Whats coming up:
The Forge will next see action on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December
2 when they travel to Detroit for a two-game set against the East
Division-leading Compuware Ambassadors. Pittsburgh¹s next home game is in
two weeks when the Cleveland Barons visit the Island Sports Center for a
7:30 p.m. game. Tickets for that contest and all remaining Forge home games
are available by calling (412) 269-4478.
