Molson OHL Player of the Month – Kevin Dallman, Guelph Storm
The Molson OHL Player of the Month for December is Guelph Storm defenceman Kevin Dallman, who scored seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 11 games to help the Storm to a 4-2-3-1 record last month.
Dallman, the Storm captain, leads all OHL defencemen in scoring this season with 16 goals and 35 assists for 51 points in 38 games. He recorded points in 10 of the Storm’s 11 games last month, and scored a hat trick December 9 against Ottawa.
OHL Rookie of the Month – Petr Taticek, Sault Ste. Marie
The OHL Rookie of the Month for December is Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds centre Petr Taticek, who scored six goals and nine assists for 15 points in nine games.
Taticek, an 18-year-old Czech native, scored goals in five of the Greyhounds’ nine games last month, including a two-goal game December 30 against London.
Taticek, the Greyhound’s first pick in the 2001 CHL Import Draft, is a highly rated prospect for the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He is second among Greyhounds scorers with 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points in 38 games.
OHL Goaltender of the Month – David Chant, Barrie Colts
The OHL Goaltender of the Month for December is David Chant of the Barrie Colts, who posted a 4-2-0 record, along with a 1.48 goals against average and .954 save percentage, in six games.
Chant, a 20-year-old native of Toronto, appeared in six of the Colts nine games last month and posted three shutouts helping the Eastern Conference-leading Colts to a 6-3-0-0 record in December.
Chant has posted a 17-6-3 record, along with a league-best 2.13 goals against average and .934 save percentage in 20 games this season.
