FORGE DROPS 4-3 HEARTBREAKER IN CHICAGO

CHICAGO, IL (January 11, 2002) — The Pittsburgh Forge Junior A
hockey club dropped a tough 4-3 decision to the Chicago Freeze in Chicago.
The Forge trailed 2-0 after the opening period, but grabbed a 3-2 lead on
second-period goals by Andy Cote, Daniel Schildorfer and Andy Brandt.
However, the Freeze picked up the game-winning goal with just a minute and
nine seconds remaining in the contest. Pittsburgh took the loss despite
out-shooting Chicago, 47-25 on the evening.

FORGE NOTCHES 5-1 WIN OVER USA NATIONAL TEAM

ANN ARBOR, MI (Saturday, January 12, 2002) — The Pittsburgh Forge got goals
by five different players and defeated the USA National Team, 5-1, in Ann
Arbor, MI. The Forge, which led 3-0 after one period and 4-1 after two
stanzas, improved its North American Hockey League record to 22-9-2. Goal
scorers for the Forge were Josh Coyle (#3), Mike Handza
(#16), Daniel Schildorfer (#5), Carson Strang (#9) and Pat Levendusky (#14).
Pittsburgh outshot the Team USA, 38-18.

FORGE DUMPS USA NATIONAL TEAM, 5-2

ANN ARBOR, MI (Sunday, January 13, 2002) — The Pittsburgh Forge Junior A
hockey club defeated the USA National Team by a score of 5-2 in Ann Arbor,
MI. Daniel Schildorfer scored a pair of goals to key the victory as the
Forge raised its North American Hockey League record to
23-9-2. The 6-foot, 170-pound forward from Velden, Austria netted a total
of four goals this weekend to help the team go 2-1 on its three-game road
trip. Schildorfer, who had three goals in 28 games prior to this weekend,
now has seven goals on the season. Josh Coyle, who was named the number one
star in both games against the USA National Team, also scored for the Forge,
as did Jim Thamann and Denis Kirstein. Peter Mannino made his first start
in goal for Pittsburgh and picked up his first NAHL victory. He made 31
saves, including one on a penalty shot, and lost his bid for a shutout with
five minutes left in the contest.

Whats coming up: The Forge will be back in action next Friday and Saturday,
January 18-19, when they travel to Lansing, MI, for a pair of 7:30 p.m.
games against the Capital Centre Pride. Pittsburgh will return to the home
ice of the Island Sports Center on Monday, January 21 for a 7:30 p.m.
contest vs. the Cleveland Barons. That game will be the first of seven
straight home games for the Forge.

PITTSBURGH AMATEUR PENGUINS JUNIOR B’s:

Through 24 games of the Empire Junior B Hockey season the Pittsburgh Amateur
Junior B’s have posted an 12-10-2 record and stand in 6th place of the
league standings. Nick Buser leads the squad with 20 goals, 17 assists for
37 points, good for 8th overall in the league scoring race. Steve Shimek is
closely behind with 18 goals, 16 assists. Goaltender James Duchess is 2nd in
the league with a 91.39 save percentage.
