The Muskegon Fury knocked off the top seed in the Western Division to advance to the Colonial Cup Finals. It took seven hard fought games for the Fury to eliminate the Quad City Mallards but they were able to shutout the Mallards in the seventh game.
In the first four games the home team cam up the victor. Quad City took game one in overtime by a score of 3-2. In game two the Mallards toped the Fury by a score of 5-3.
In Muskegon the Fury won game three by a final score of 5-3. In game four the Fury tied the series with a 4-1 win.
The last three games saw the road teams became the victors. The Fury took game five by two goals and a final of 3-1. In game six it was back to Muskegon and the Mallards blanked the Fury 5-0, to tie the game and send the series to a seventh and final game back in the Mallards home rink. The Fury responded to being shutout, by blanking the Mallards 4-0 and advancing to the finals.
The Fury will be facing off against the Elmira Jackals for the Colonial Cup, no game dates have been scheduled as of this time.
