While still too early to tell what the 2002-2003 Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins will look like, some moves to shape the team have been made. The resigning of head coach Glenn Patrick for next season has been made. Steve Parsons has been traded to Nashville last month, and Penguins Defensemen of the year Brandon Buckley has been signed to a 2 year NHL contract recently. The rumor winds on Popular center and last years AHL Penalty minute leader Darcy Verot will not be back for his fourth season with the club.

The way things look now the Penguins are trying to shed its reputation for penalty minutes, having traded Parson who was ranked second last year behind Verot and captain Jason MacDonald fourth in the league in penalties.
