Jonas Johnson to Remain in Sweden
Written by: Chris DeGroat on 07/09/2002 ![]()
Late last week, Johnson signed a long-term deal with Vastra Frolunda of the SEL, meaning that the chances of him ever playing in the NHL are very slim.
"Sometimes we wonder if we’re dealing with a 32-year-old? It’s a pity if he had second thoughts, in that case we threw away a draft pick on him," the Blues European scout Anders Steen told the Göteborgs-Posten, a Swedish newspaper.
According to the reports in the paper, Johnson decided the money wasn’t worth uprooting his family and moving them to the United States.
Note: Because of this report, Johnson will be removed from the Blues' depth chart.
