Myrvold to Germany, Other News and Notes from Norway

Anders Myrvold has reportedly accepted a contract offer from top German club Adler Mannheim making him the 4th Norwegian (prospect) to play in Germany. Myrvold`s contract terms are estimated to be a one year deal worth about 160,000 USD after taxes.

Myrvold`s agent was in discussions with the Florida Panthers and St.Louis Blues but could not reach agreement on terms of a deal. Myrvold played for Hartford of the American League last season and Fribourg in the Swiss league.

Norwegian Champion club lead by former Montreal Canadien Serge Boisvert is currently negotiating with a former NHL defenseman. Boisvert has not given his name but has mentioned that this 5-6th defender has played 15 years in the NHL. With the loss of Swedish player Thomas Ring(back to Sweden) Boisvert desperately needs a big defender.

Marius Holtet drafted by the Dallas Stars in this years draft is with the Dallas Stars rookie evaluation camp and has impressed.

Ole Tollefsen, another Norwegian drafted this year, by the Columbus Blue Jackets received positive feedback in his first trip to North America with the Blue Jackets. The big defender “played tough for a Norwegian”… and stood his ground well.
