When did you start playing hockey?

I started when I was three or four years old. First I was just skating and I was having
lots of fun, so soon after that I started playing organised hockey.

Where did you start playing hockey?

It was in Frontier, my hometown, but the first team I played for was Shaunawon.

Who directed your first hockey steps?

My father played hockey and he was the person who brought me to the game. We lived near
a rink and I spent lots of time there, so it was quite logical that I also began to
play hockey.

What is your biggest success in hockey so far?

Winning gold medals with the Canadian Under-18 team at the World Junior Cup in Czech
Republic and Slovakia two weeks ago probably. Winning the WHL’s top rookie award last
season was also a huge success, I enjoyed it a lot.

Who is your hockey role model?

That would be Paul Coffey, he was an amazing player and I admire him really a lot.

Your favorite NHL team?

Growing up, I watched the Calgary Flames a lot and was a huge fan of the team.

Do you have a favorite number you like to wear on your jersey?

I have many numbers I like to wear, not a specific one. For example 27, 3, 4…

How would you describe yourself as a player?

I think I can read the plays quite well and have good instincts for the game. Strength
is also one of my biggest assets. From the things I have to work on I would mention
being physical and I also have to improve my shooting skills.

Have you had any serious injury in your previous career?

Nothing serious, I’m lucky.

What’s your goal for the upcoming WHL season?

I want to help my team as much as I can. The other thing is that I hope I will have a good
season in general.

What do you do in your free time?

I like to hang out with my friends and have some fun. I also study at a high school.
Another thing would be watching TV movies, I prefer the movie Slapshot, this is my
favorite. Listening to music is also one of my hobbies, I like alternative rock.

Do you play any other sport besides hockey?

Yeah, when I’m not playing hockey, then I enjoy playing baseball. I like that sport.

Do you have a nickname?

Yeah, my teammates usually call me Cobie.

And your hockey dreams?

Definitely playing in the NHL and I dream of winning the Stanley Cup some day.
