Prospect News
The preseason has been on for quite a while now and the Swedish teams have played 6-13 games already. Several prospects have been looking quite good so far. Montreal draftee Niklas Anger has been the most impressing one.
Anger has scored 16 points in 11 preseason games with his new team, Brynäs. He will also make his debut with the Swedish national team in Ceska Pojistovna Cup this week.

Detroit prospect Pär Bäcker, who is among the very best prospects in Sweden, will also make his debut with team Sweden. A lot of people expect a terrific season from this young player, all because of his excellent play in the sel-playoffs this past season. Definitely another steal by Detroit.

Another player who has been successful during the preseason is Jari Tolsa, also drafted by the Red Wings. He has put 4 goals and 3 assists with Frölunda. His line mate Magnus Kahnberg (drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes) has been even more impressive with his 6 goals and 4 assists. Kahnberg is hoping for a break out year, and he will probably have one as well.
