The Forge will face the Danville Wings on Friday night, the Texas Tornado on Saturday afternoon, then the Springfield Junior Blues on Sunday afternoon. The Forge have completed two weeks of training under the direction of their new head coach John Becanic. Marie, Ontario — spent the previous five years as head coach and director of hockey operations for the Bismarck Bobcats of the Junior-A America West Hockey League, and compiled a 121-93-22 record. His resume also includes a two-year stint with the Soo Greyhounds of the Major Junior Ontario Hockey League, a team that won the Memorial Cup Championship in 1993. Pittsburgh’s first home games at the Island Sports Center will be Friday and Saturday, September 13-14 vs. defending NAHL and national champion Detroit Compuware.

CAPTAINS NAMED: The Pittsburgh Forge has named forward Andy Brandt captain for the 2002-2003 season. Pittsburgh natives defensemen Dylan Reese and Denis Kirstein have been appointed alternate captains.
