Canadiens’ weekly prospects update

Michael Lambert -F (Drafted-02(4/99))

Lambert rebounded from a difficult prospect tournament to play well in each of the Montréal Rocket’s first 2 games this season. The 6’1″, 208-lbs forward scored 3 goals during a season-opening 7-5 win over Shawinigan, and managed 2 assists during a 4-0 win over Drummondville. The 18-year-old’s next game is September 18th against Val D’Or.

Vadim Tarasov -G (Drafted-99(7/196))

Tarasov will play the entire upcoming season with Metallurgist HK. He recovered from a recurring groin injury to start the team’s first regular season game. The 5’11”, 187-lbs goalie was named the first star during a 3-2 loss. He did not start the second game of the season, however 23 minutes into the contest he did come on in relief. The 25-year-old allowed 3 of the 7 goals in an eventual 7-3 loss. Overall, Tarasov is 0-1 with a 3.71 GAA.

Alexander Buturlin -RW (Drafted-99(2/39))

Buturlin played in only one of Lada Togliatti’s first two games of the regular season. The second game of the season saw the 6’0″, 193-lbs. winger get shutout during a 2-0 loss. The 21-year-old started the preseason well, but his offensive output seemed to tail off as the regular season approached.

Alexander Perezhogin -C (Drafted-01(1/25))

Perezhogin is coming off a strong 4-nations tournament where he was a member of the Russian Senior team. The 6’0″, 190-lbs forward has played in each of Omsk’s first two regular season games this season. Through those two games he’s managed 1 assist. The assist came during a 2-0 win over Lada Togliatti.

Konstantin Korneev -D (Drafted-02(9/275))

At only 18 years old Korneev remains the Canadiens youngest prospect. His preseason play allowed him to make the Russian Senior league’s Soviet Wings to start the season. The 5’11”, 178-lbs defenseman was shutout during a season opening 4-0 loss.

Victor Ujcik -F (Drafted-01(9/266))

Slavia Praha’s Viktor Ujcik managed 1 assist through 2 games to start the season. His assist came during a 5-2 season-opening win over Vitkovice. Overall, the 5’11”, 190-lbs winger has played 2 games. He has 1 assist to go along with 2 minutes in penalties, and an even plus/minus.

Hab you Heard?

Miloslav Guren, the Habs’ 3rd round pick in ’95 has transferred from Trinec of the Czech Extraliga to CSKA Moskva of the Russian Superleague. Through 2 RSL games this season the 26-year-old has no points.
