Game Notes/Review

The Pirates welcomed new coach Tim Army, who was an assistant in Washington, Tim replaces Glen Hanlon, who was promoted to Tim’s former position in DC under New Capitals coach Bruce Cassidy.

The tenth Anniversary season began on Friday, the 11th, as Norfolk was the opposition, but the Admirals skated to a 4-2 win, as the Pirates later found their home jerseys were stolen, along with Lowell’s, so they debuted the Road jerseys at home.

Chris Ferraro, his first, and first on the Power Play from Todd Rohloff and Peter Ferraro; and

Mel Angelstad, his first, from Peter Ferraro and Chris Hajt.

Rastistav Stana, based on his pre-season, was awarded the opening night start, and had 20 stops.

Saturday came, and the Pirates traveled to the Springfield Civic Center for their initial meeting with the Falcons, and came away with just the ninth win ever in that building, 6-2.

Tvrdon, his second, and first on the Power Play from Matt Libby and Brad Parsons;

On the 18th, the Pirates made their initial appearance in Manchester against the Monarchs, but it became a highly contested 3-3 draw.

On Saturday, the 19th, the Pirates opened the Centrum Center as the opposition for the IceCats, who skated to a 3-2 Win.
