Slovakia and Czech Republic meet up for the first time this year

Czech Republic- Slovakia Big rivals met for the first time this year and it was very interesting game; especially for those who watch hockey prospects. Slovakia, defending world champion, came to Plzen with a extremely unexperienced team. On the other side, the Czech team was mixed with veterans, senior players and fantastic junior line Vojtech Polak- Jiri Hudler- Milan Michalek.

1. period 4`- minor penalty- Slovakia (Jan Lipiansky- hooking)

11`- goal- Czech Republic (Milan Michalek assisted by Jiri Hudler)
Slovak goalie Simonovic lost his stick and young Czech line profited from chaos in Slovak defense. Hudler wom the puck behind the net, passed in front of it and Michalek had no problem to score his second goal for Czech National Team.

11`- minor penalty- Czech Republic (Marek Zidlicky- holding)
Zidlicky held Flyers` prospect Pistek who won the battle along the boards before 14`- Michalek stole the puck, Hudler passed it to Polak who was in good scoring position in front of the net

15`- minor penalty- Slovakia (Dusan Devecka- roughing)
16`- Kropac, best goal scorer of Czech Extraleague, was in breakaway, but he didn`t target left corner

2. period

22`- minor penalty- Czech Republic (Frantisek Kucera- holding)
22`- minor penalty- Slovakia (Tomas Starosta- hooking)
Zabka lost puck on the blueline and Starosta had to stop Tenkrat in his breakaway opportunity

23`- goal- Czech Republic (Martin Richter assisted by Richard Kral and Vaclav Pletka)
27`- goal- Slovakia (Radoslav Kropac assisted by Martin Cakajik)
Cakajik carried the puck on the right side, passed it in front of the net to Kropac who scored his first goal for National Team

27`- goal- Slovakia (Gabriel Spilar assisted by Robert Tomik)
Spilar skated in full speed between Czech defensemen and scored the goal to the upper side of Malek`s net

28`- goal- Czech Republic (Vaclav Pletka assisted by Richard Kral and Radek Duda)

29`- minor penalty- Czech Republic (Marek Zidlicky- elbowing)

30`- PP goal- Slovakia (Lubomir Hurtaj assisted by Dusan Devecka and Robert Tomik)
Wonderful tic-tac-toe power play goal. Malek had no chance against Hurtaj who was standing alone in front of the net.

32`- in the battle of 4th lines totaly dominated Czech junior trio. They spent the whole shift in offensive zone.

36`- minor penalty- Slovakia (Vladimir Urban- holding)

3. period

41`- goal- Czech Republic (Libor Prochazka assisted by Richard Kral)

43`- minor penalty- Czech Republic (Radek Duda- highsticking)

46`- Hudler was in breakaway, but he didn`t score his first goal for National Team In following situation, Michalek had nice scoring chance, but he only hit the post

54`- minor penalty- Czech Republic (Pavel Kolarik- boarding)

60`- 5 seconds remaining in the third period, Slovakia had the chance to tie the game, but Hurtaj lost the face-off and Czechs won next game against Slovakia.
