Pack Tracks the Hartford Wolf Pack recap for the week of December 16, 2002 through December 22, 2002. The Wolf Pack played in a couple of games and made several transactions for the week. They also have a busy holiday week coming up.

GAME RECAPS

Wednesday, December 18, 2002 vs. Utah Grizzlies
If you wanted to see a game with plenty of goal scoring than this game was for you. There were a total of sixteen goals scored between the two teams. The Wolf Pack jumped out to an early two goal lead, but the Grizzlies responded with three goals before the end of the opening period. In the second period the Wolf Pack scored twice to go ahead by one goal. The Grizzlies scored once in the period to tie the game, but the Wolf Pack scored on more goal in the second period to regain the lead. In the third period the Wolf Pack added one more goal to their lead, only to have the Grizzlies score two more goals to again tie the game. The Wolf Pack responded with four more goals in the final period to win the game by a score of 10-6. The Grizzlies were 1 of 7 on the power play and Jason Bacashihua stopped 24 of 34 Wolf Pack shots to drop his record to 7-6-0. The Wolf Pack were 2 of 6 on the power play and Jason LaBarbera stopped 37 of 43 Grizzlies shots to improve his record to 9-6-2.

Saturday, December 21, 2002 vs. Utah Grizzlies
Unlike the last meeting between these two teams this game had a combined four goals scored, two by each team. The Wolf Pack scored the only goal of the first period. In the second period the Wolf Pack again had the only goal of the period. In the third period the Grizzlies scored twice to tie the game, and send the game into overtime. In the extra period neither team was able to score and the game ended in a 2-2 tie. The Grizzlies were 1 of 8 on the power play and Corey Hirsch stopped 34 of 36 Wolf Pack shots to move his record to 8-8-2. The Wolf Pack were 2 of 4 on the power play and Johan Holmqvist stopped 25 of 27 Grizzlies shots to move his record to 4-3-3.
