Sebastien Centomo Reassigned to Greensboro of ECHL

Goaltender Sebastien Centomo, who played in the NHL last season after being the St. John’s Maple Leafs number one goalie, has now been reassigned to the Greensboro Generals of the East Coast Hockey League. In 19 appearances this season Centomo has a 7-10-1 record, a 3.90 AVG. and a .878 save percentage.

The demotion of Centomo, a Montreal native, happened after the emergence of Jamie Hodson in a recent three game weekend. Hodson received three straight starts, going 1-1-1 in that span, including a 34 save performance against Albany to emerge as St. John’s Number Two goalie behind Mikael Tellqvist, who has returned to St. John’s.

Centomo’s last appearance with St. John’s saw him pulled in a 5-1 loss against Manchester earlier in the month and despite having the same number of wins in less appearances with St. John’s as Mikael Tellqvist, Centomo seems to have lost the confidence of the coaching staff.

The Maple Leafs get ready to play a two game set against former Leaf Harold Druken and the Lowell Lock Monsters January 30th & 31st.
