Pack Track the Hartford Wolf Pack recap for the week of January 20, 2003 through January 26, 2003. The Wolf Pack ended their 5 game home stand, andthis week they go on the road for a 6 game road trip with the AHL All Star Game in the middle.

GAME RECAPS

Wednesday, January 22, 2003 vs. Houston Aeros
The Wolf Pack in the middle of a five game home stand took on the Houston Aeros. The Aeros flew into Hartford and opened up with three unanswered goals in the first period. In the second period the Aeros scored another three goals and again kept the Wolf Pack scoreless. In the third period the Aeros outshot the Wolf Pack 13-7 but neither team was able to score. The Aeros flew out of Hartford with an easy 6-0 win. The Aeros were 1 of 9 on the power play and Derek Gustafson stopped all 19 shots by the Wolf Pack for the shutout. The Wolf Pack were 0 of 5 on the power play, Jason LaBarbera stopped 27 of 30 shots, and Johan Holmqvist stopped 5 of 8 Aeros shots to drop his record to 7-9-4.

Friday, January 24, 2003 vs. Springfield Falcons
Looking to bounce back after the loss to Houston the Springfield Falcons traveled into Hartford. The Wolf Pack scored the only goal in the first period. The second period saw both teams go scoreless. The Falcons scored early in the third period to tie the game, but with under two minutes left in the game the Wolf Pack scored the game winning goal for the 2-1 victory. The Falcons were 0 of 6 on the power play and Evgeny Konstantinov stopped 28 of 30 Wolf Pack shots to drop his record to 8-15-1. The Wolf Pack were 1 of 5 on the power play and Jason LaBarbera stopped 43 of 44 Falcons shots to improve his record to 12-10-2.

Saturday, January 25, 2003 vs. Chicago Wolves
The defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves came into Hartford for the last game of the Wolf Pack 5 game home stand. The Wolf Pack scored the first goal of the game just one minute into the game, this would be their only goal of the game. The Wolves responded with three goals of their own in the first period. The Wolves added a fourth goal in the third period to win the game with a final score of 4-1. The Wolves were 1 of 7 on the power play and Norm Maracle stopped 37 of 38 Wolf Pack shots to improve his record to 11-12-2. The Wolf Pack were 0 of 5 on the power play and Jason LaBarbera stopped 28 of 31 Wolves shots to drop his record to 12-11-2.
