Chris Neil scored a pair of goals and Jani Hurme registered 31 saves to lead the Grand Rapids Griffins past the Orlando Solar Bears, 4-1. Neil
extended Grand Rapids’ advantage to 2-0 with five minutes remaining in the first period and doubled the lead 1:43 into the third frame. Hurme
earned his 25th win of the season by making 12 saves in the final period for the Griffins, who have won four consecutive games and seven of
nine (7-1-1). Petr Schastlivy added a goal and a pair of assists for Grand Rapids, which recorded just 18 shots. Bob Lachance provided the only
offense for Orlando, which dropped to 2-4-2 in its last eight home games.
