DeSautels is serving as an alternate captain for Spokane this year.

Eric Fehr, RW, Brandon (WHL)
WHL totals so far – 13 games, 12 goals, 4 assists, +6, 40 PIM
2003 first rounder pick Eric Fehr continues to play great hockey. He’s still leading the WHL in goals with 12 and now he’s padding his penalty minutes. With 12 on Oct 18th he’s now up to 40 for the season. Toughness aside, Fehr now leads the WHL in game winning goals (4), power play goals (7), and is tied for short handed goals (2). He was also named WHL player of the week for the week of Oct 8.

Gherson was traded to Owen Sound earlier this year and is now their starting netminder.

Andrew Joudrey, F, Wisconsin (WCHA)
WCHA totals so far – 4 games, 2 goals, 2 assists, 0 PIM
Wisconsin forward Andrew Joudrey scored his second goal of the season in a 3-1 defeat to St. Cloud. Joudrey, an eighth round pick of the Caps was named WCHA Rookie of the Week earlier this month. He currently leads the Badgers in scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games.

Derek Krestanovich, C, Moose Jaw (WHL)
WHL totals so far – 11 games, 2 goals, 2 assists, -4, 28 PIM
After a promising rookie camp and training camp, 2002 third round pick Derek Krestanovich is struggling with the Moose Jaw Warriors. In 11 games he has only managed 2 goals and 2 assists and a very mediocre -4 rating. He has been playing rather physical, possibly a carry over from getting an extended look in training camp and not getting a contract for Portland.

Mark missed some time with an apparent concussion already but is back in the lineup for Kelowna.

2002 3rd round pick and Hitmen Captain Patrick Wellar picked up his first goal of the season in a 4-3 loss to Swift Current. In 11 games so far this season, Wellar has 1 goal and 1 assist with 21 PIMS and a +3. This will be Wellar’s final season in junior hockey and the Caps have until June 1st 2004 to get him under contract before losing him back to the NHL draft.
