With the likes of Danny Fritsche (USA), Dimitri Kosmachev (RUS) and Arsi Piispanen (FIN) gearing up to represent their respective countries in the 2004 International Ice Hockey Federation's Under-20 World Championships in Finland, Blue Jackets prospect Ole-Kristian Tollefsen is gearing up for a trip overseas as well, with a different destination.
Tollefsen, Columbus' third round selection in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft, has left his Western Hockey League Club, the Brandon Wheat Kings, and has packed his bags for an arrival in France. There, Tollefsen will captain Norway's club at the 2004 International Ice Hockey Federation's World Junior B Hockey Championships.
Representing Norway is nothing new for Tollefsen, who participated in the same tournament in 2002. Ole-Kristian posted marks of one goal and three assists in five games in the tournament. Tollefsen, Brandon's first round selection in the 2002 WHL import draft, also competed in the tournament in 2003.
Tollefsen was named Brandon's 'Jack Fraser Player Of The Month' for November.
