Hockey’s Future spoke to Robertson following a 6-0 win over New Hampton School Huskies on Monday.
HF: Can you describe your style of play? Does it compare perhaps to your favorite NHL player?
JR: I am a playmaker and I see the ice very well, but also play with a lot of grit and toughness.
HF: Who is your favorite NHL player?
JR: Mike Modano or Paul Kariya.
HF: How long are you planning to go to Northeastern? What are you planning on majoring in while you're there? What made you choose Northeastern over any other school?
JR: Four years, majoring in Business Administration. I chose NU because I wanted to be in Boston and I really liked the coaching staff there, the campus, and it was where I felt more comfortable.
HF: Being drafted so young (high school) how did it make you feel? Were you expecting to be drafted; any particular teams that may have expressed any interest before the draft?
JR: Being drafted in high school was very exciting. I was expected to be drafted, just not sure when. Besides the Capitals, the Rangers, Flyers, and the Bruins.
HF: Do you find yourself following the Capitals more so than your favorite NHL team (I'm assuming you are a Boston fan)?
JR: I will always be a Bruins fan, but I definitely follow the Capitals just as much now that I have been drafted by them.
HF: Some may say that Proctor has been struggling lately. Do you feel that way and do you feel this team can repeat as NE division II Prep champs?
JR: We have been in a funk lately, but last year we were in a worse funk and we still went on to win. I definitely think we can repeat as Division II champs.
HF: You scored 37 goals last season as a junior. Do you think you can repeat that this season?
JR: Yes, I have 23 goals and 60 points right now after 20 games. We still have about 16 games left.
HF: Do you know if you will be planning to attend the Caps Rookie Camp next summer?
JR: Yes I’m planning on attending camp.
