Branislav
Fabry comes from the strong prospect group born in
HF: Do you have any NHL heroes?
BF: Well, I
like the play of Ilya Kovalchuk
or Eric Lindros.
HF: Who do you model your game
after?
BF: It’s
hard to say, but I don’t model my game after any specific player. I just have
my own style.
HF: What do you view as the
strengths of your game?
BF: My
strengths are physical play, skating, grittiness, toughness and shooting.
HF: What was the most important
thing you took out of attending Sabres camp this
year?
BF: The
most important thing I took out of Sabres camp was
sturdiness, because it was very difficult to succeed among so many players.
HF: What is the most critical aspect
of your game that needs to be improved in order to make the jump to the pros?
BF: There
is always something to improve, I can improve every
aspect of my game. It is hard to say ‘I need to improve this aspect’. I need to
improve myself constantly to make the jump to the pros.
HF: How did you feel when you heard
your name called at the NHL Draft?
BF: When I
heard my name at NHL Draft it was incredible feeling. My first, big childhood
dreams came true.
HF: What is your view of the
BF: They
have a young team, with no stars, so there is a bigger chance to play NHL in
the team like that.
HF: When do you expect yourself to
be ready to make the jump to
BF: I
expect myself to be ready in two years to make a jump to
HF: How long does your current
contract run for?
BF: My
current contract runs for one more year.
HF: How did you first become
interested in hockey?
BF: My
father brought me to hockey and I really appreciate it.
HF: Have you ever been described as
a young Miro Satan?
BF: I
haven’t met anyone who would compare me to Miro
Satan, but I had a chance to play with him one match and we had a great
chemistry.
