Cam Barker, D – Medicine Hat Tigers, WHL

Height: 6’3, Weight: 200 lbs., DOB – 1986-04-04

Cam Barker, the third overall pick in the 2004 draft, is in his fourth season with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL. Last season he had 21 goals and his 65 points were second best for a defenseman on the team, behind Yanick Seidenberg. Barker was a member of Team WHL at the 2004 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge, played for Team Cherry at the 2004 CHL Top Prospects game and was also a member of the gold medal winning Team Canada at the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championships. He is utilized in all game situations, does not back down from a challenge and has a hard shot which helps to create chances offensively. So far this season he has 26 assists and a +11 rating in 31 games and his 33 points are good for sixth among league defensemen and fourth on the Tigers.

Troy Brouwer, RW – Moose Jaw Warriors, WHL

Height: 6’2, Weight: 212 lbs., DOB – 1985-08-17

Troy Brouwer, a seventh-round pick in 2004, is in his fourth season with the Moose Jaw Warriors. Last season he had 23 goals, good for third on the team, and also notched 49 points and 111 penalty minutes. Brouwer is known to deliver big hits and follow through on his checks. He is a good skater who has a strong defensive game and is used on the point on power plays and penalty kills. An eighth-round pick in 2004, Dustin Byfuglien is in his second full season with the Prince George Cougars after coming from the Brandon Wheat Kings. In 66 games last season he had 16 goals and his 45 points were good for third on the team. Byfuglien is known for having a natural ability with a good shot and strong passing skills. In 41 games this season he is leading the Cougars in scoring with 16 goals, 40 points and a +9 rating.

Eric Hunter, C – Prince George Cougars, WHL

Eric Hunter, an eighth-round pick in 2004, is in his third season with the Prince George Cougars. In 70 games last season he had 42 points and 122 penalty minutes. Hunter was a member of Canada's Under-18 team that placed fourth in 2003-04. Known as a good skater with a good release, he uses his speed to create turnovers and is quick to jump on loose pucks. Colin Fraser, C – Red Deer Rebels, WHL

Height: 6’1, Weight: 175 lbs., DOB – 1985-01-28

Colin Fraser, a third-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2003, was traded to the Blackhawks in 2004 in deal that involved Alexei Zhamnov. The captain of the Red Deer Rebels is in his fourth season with the club and Was a member of Canada's gold medal winning team at the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championships. In 70 games last season he had 24 goals, 29 assists and 53 points, the highest totals on the Rebels in those categories and his 174 penalty minutes were good for second on the team behind Stuart Kerr. A checking line center, Fraser is not intimidated by anyone, plays an aggressive style of game and will not give up on the play. In 38 games this season he has 10 goals, 38 points and a team leading 108 penalty minutes.

Jared Walker, LW, C – Red Deer Rebels, WHL

Height: 6’3, Weight: 183 lbs., DOB – 1986-01-14

A seventh-round pick in 2004, Jared Walker is in his third season with the Red Deer Rebels. Last season he had 11 goals and 19 points in 67 games. Walker was a member of Team Cherry at the 2004 CHL Top Prospects game. Noted as a good two-way center and an aggressive forechecker, Walker is also a quick skater. Brent Seabrook, the 14th pick overall in the 2003 draft, is in his fourth full season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Last season he had 12 goals, 107 penalty minutes and his 41 points were the most for any Lethbridge defenseman. The captain of the Hurricanes was a member Team Cherry at the 2003 CHL Top Prospects game, of Team WHL at the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in 2004 and was also a member of Canada's gold medal winning team at the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championships. A good skater with strong passing skills, Seabrook has a powerful shot and makes intelligent decisions with the puck. In 40 games this season he has 34 points, best for a defenseman on the Hurricanes, and his 71 penalty minutes are good for second on the team behind Mark Ashton.

Jakub Sindel, C – Brandon Wheat Kings, WHL

Jakub Sindel, a second-round pick in 2004, is in his rookie season with the Brandon Wheat Kings after coming over from his native Czech Republic this season. David Bolland, a second-round pick in 2004, is in his third season with the league leading London Knights of the OHL. Alexei Ivanov, a fifth-round selection in the 2003 draft, is a rookie in the OHL this season after coming from his native Russia. He started off the season with the London Knights and is currently playing with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. Ivanov went scoreless in nine games last season with Ufa Salavat Yulayev. He is a team leader who plays smart and is a good all-around player with strong skills in skating, passing and playmaking. Corey Crawford, G – Moncton Wildcats, QMJHL

Height: 6’3, Weight: 181 lbs., DOB – 1984-12-31

Corey Crawford, a second-round pick in 2003, is playing in his fourth season with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. In 54 games last season he had two shutouts, a 2.62 goals against average and a league-leading 35 wins. Crawford is strong in the crease and stays confident when opponents crash the net. He plays hard every night and shuts down the lower part of the net with a classic butterfly style. So far this season he has 22 wins, a .924 save percentage and a league-leading six shutouts.
