OHL: Ontario finishes fifth at World Under-17 Challenge

Zack Torquato of the Saginaw Spirit, Chris Terry of the Plymouth Whalers and John Tavares of the Oshawa Generals all scored two goals to help Team Ontario to a 9-1 win over Team Atlantic in their final game at the World Under-17 Challenge in Regina, Saskatchewan on Tuesday.

Ontario finished fifth in the 10-team tournament.

Bryan Cameron of the Belleville Bulls, Yves Bastien of the Kitchener Rangers and Sam Gagner also scored in the win over Team Atlantic.

Tavares, who was the tournament’s top scorer with six goals and 14 points in five games, and Mark Katic of the Sarnia Sting were named to the tournament All-Star Team.
