OHL Press Release

They will need the game to settle the tie-breaker.

The Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Stars split the two portions of the OHL All-Star Skills Competition and Three-on-Three Game in Belleville on Tuesday.

The Western Conference won the Skills Competition portion of the event before the East stormed back with a shootout win in the Three-on-Three Game.

Puck Control Relay

The Western Conference group of John Vigilante (Plymouth Whalers), Bob Sanguinetti (Owen Sound Attack) Evan McGrath (Kitchener Rangers) and Tommy Pyatt (Saginaw Spirit) had the fastest time in the group relay. Jordan Staal (Peterborough Petes) beat David Bolland (London Knights) in the individual event.

Fastest Skater

Chad Painchaud of the Sarnia Sting put in the best lap time and earned the Western Conference another point when he completed a fast lap in 14.255 seconds.

Hardest Shot

Boris Valabik of the Kitchener Rangers recorded the hardest shot in the event with a 96.3 miles per hour blast. Team West also picked up the point for the highest average speed among their five shooters. Derek Joslin of the Ottawa 67’s and Jonathan D’Aversa of the Sudbury Wolves tied for second with identical shots of 94.1 mph.

Shooting Accuracy

Robbie Schremp of the London Knights set the pace in the shooting accuracy contest by picking off four targets in just six shots. Bobby Ryan of the Owen Sound Attack and Steve Downie of the Peterborough Petes each hit three targets in eight tries.

Breakaway Relay

David Bolland (London Knights), Evan McGrath (Kitchener Rangers), Ryan O’Marra (Erie Otters), Michael Blunden (Erie Otters) and Tyler Kennedy (Sault Greyhounds) scored for the Western Conference while Jonathan D’Aversa (Sudbury Wolves), Wojtek Wolski (Brampton Battalion) and Matt Kelly (Belleville Bulls) scored for the East.
