Scheifele was a part of the Canadian team at the 2012 World Junior Championship that finished a disappointing third in front of a “home” crowd, losing a semi-final match to long-time rival Russia. He and a couple of his teammates from the 2012 WJC squad are now on Russian soil looking to spoil the party for the home team. They have accomplished their goal so far, with Canada defeating Russia 4-1 on New Year's Eve, a win that moves Canada to the semi-final game once again.
For Scheifele, it has been a productive tournament as he sits among the top five scorers at this WJC. The Winnipeg Jets prospect has netted four goals and added two assists through the four preliminary round games Team Canada has played.
Scheifele spoke to the media following Canada's win over Russia, some of which is captured in this HF video.
